 After much encouraging from friends and family, I  now  offer to my customers a custom made to order quilt top. My tops can be of whatever colors, designs or patterns you like. E-mail me with details and we will talk. I will send pictures  of fabrics I choose for you and progress pictures along the way as well. Half payment is due before I purchase the fabrics. I am sure you understand fabric is the big investment.

When pricing a quilt top there are a few things to consider. First how large do you want it, who will use it and what is the design requirements.

If the quilt is for a child, I recommend choosing a simple patchwork design. If it is for adults, the designs are limitless.

Fabrics will be chosen as per the design and techniques needed. Machine quilters threads will be used in the top of the machine. Cotton thread will be in the bobbin.

Price the pieced top

$0.015           per sq. inch base price (min. $30.00)
$7.95-10.25 per yard fabric (quilt quaility 100% cotton)
$5.00            per spool of thread
$0.90            per bobbin

To determine the sq inch of the quilt, multiply the top width by the side length.
EXAMPLE  throw is 60x60 inches square or 3600 sq inches. Multiply 3600 by .015 and the base price is $54.00

Example throw finished at 37x37  or 1369 sq inch at a base price of $20.53, 1.3 yards of fabric @ $8.50 = $11.05, one spool thread and two bobbins= $6.80.
total cost would be approximately $47.85.
